Ivanhoe Estate
NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) has been working with Frasers Property Australia and Mission Australia Housing to transform the 8.2-hectare former Ivanhoe Estate site on the corner of Herring Road and Epping Road.
At Ivanhoe Estate, world-class urban design, quality facilities and public open spaces will come together to support a cohesive and sustainable community, making it a highly desirable place to live.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed submissions and feedback throughout the development of the Masterplan and Stage 1 Development Applications. We appreciate the shared community aspiration to build a cohesive and sustainable future for the site.
The revised masterplan and stage 1 plans for the former Ivanhoe Estate were approved by the NSW Government in early May 2020. It is one of the first projects to have its assessment fast-tracked as part of the NSW Government’s Planning System Acceleration Program, which was created to keep the economy moving and people in jobs through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over the past three years, an extensive community consultation process has taken place, with the masterplan having evolved to incorporate:
- Approximately 3,300 new homes;
- approximately 6000 sqm of open space;
- the retention of 94 per cent of the existing ecological community along Epping Road;
- the protection of Shrimptons Creek;
- revised building heights;
- the realignment of private apartments adjacent to the existing ecology community;
- greater amenity; and
- improved integration with the existing community.
This important urban renewal project will also include a new primary school, a residential aged care facility with a seniors’ wellness centre, two childcare centres, community centre, gym and pool, a supermarket, cafés and specialty retail shops, jogging track, nature-based playgrounds and exercise stations, basketball court and community gardens.
Mission Australia Housing will have staffed offices on-site to assist in the delivery of support services and programs to strengthen the local community.
